thjnk Berlin takes on reinforcement in Sebastian Hardieck.
Sebastian Hardieck, award-winning creative with BBDO in Düsseldorf for over ten years, is joining thjnk berlin in the middle of this year. Together with Karen Heumann (co-founder and management board spokesperson at thjnk ag) and the Berlin team led by Stefan Schulte (MD Creation) and Hendrik Heine (Deputy MD Consulting), Hardieck will contribute to the agency’s ongoing success story as Managing Director Creation. In recent months, the agency group has made its presence felt with a string of spectacular new business gains (McDonald’s, ThyssenKrupp, Spiegel, …) as well as the expansion of its Audi account.
Hardieck, who in the past gained experience at eminent agencies such as Ogilvy in Johannesburg and Frankfurt as well as Jung von Matt (Audi, afri Cola, CinemaxX, Sixt) and Kolle Rebbe (GEO, Bisley) in Hamburg, looks back on an illustrious decade at BBDO.
Besides winning countless Lions for BBDO, Hardieck played an instrumental role in major new business successes such as Sky, smart, Yello Strom, WestLotto and Beck’s. In addition, he was in charge of international creative teams working on Mars and Wrigley for several years.
“I am closing the chapter in Düsseldorf with mixed feelings. But at BBDO I had reached the point where you ask yourself: What else can happen now? Then it’s time to reinvent yourself within the existing setup. Or start something completely new somewhere else. I decided on the latter because ultimately my hometown, thjnk’s partnership-based approach and the tremendous team in Berlin tipped the scales. I’m thrilled about this incredibly exciting new challenge in the capital city,” said Hardieck.

Hardieck’s starting date at thjnk Berlin will likely be 1 July 2015 and his primary field of responsibility will be new business as well as expanding existing client relationships, e.g. with Douglas and Audi.
