thjnk brings highly acclaimed creative Matthäus Frost back from Chicago to Germany.

As of 6 January 2016, Matthäus Frost stepped into a key creative role at the thjnk agency group, helping to drive thjnk’s onward growth as Creative Director. The winner of a wealth of creative accolades both at home and on the international stage, including two Cannes Lions Design Grand Prix awards, Frost focuses on interdisciplinary work spanning different locations.

He and Karl Wolfgang Epple, Creative Senior Copy, form a team that will collaborate closely with co-founder and CCO Armin Jochum across the entire agency group on a project-by-project basis.

Matthäus Frost considers curiosity the greatest asset when it comes to sparking creativity. It was his inquisitive mind that took him from TBWA in Berlin and a five-year stint at Serviceplan Campaign in Munich to Chicago, where he joined FCB as Head of Design in January 2015. Now Frost returns to Germany for thjnk.

German and international brands such as ABSOLUT Vodka, adidas, Allianz, Apple, BMW, Boeing, Bud Light Lime, ELLE, O2, TomTom and PlayStation number among his clients. His work has garnered a wealth of awards, including the Cannes Lions Design Grand Prix twice, the red dot: grand prix, Eurobest Grand Prix and the Grand LIA. Big Won Rankings placed him eighth among the world’s top art directors in 2012. Matthäus has been a member of the Art Directors Club Germany since 2013.

In addition to jury work at ADC Germany in 2014 and 2015, Matthäus has in the past two years been on the panels of The One Show Young Ones (USA, 2014), New York Festivals (USA, 2014), Das Plakat (Germany, 2014) and the AD STARS 2015 (Korea, 2015).

Armin Jochum, co-founder and CCO of thjnk ag: “I’m proud that we’ve managed to gain a creative wunderkind like Matthäus for thjnk. Along with his creative partner Karl Wolfgang Epple, I’m greatly looking forward to working together.”
