thjnk names Heiko Freyland Executive Creative Director

On 1 June 2014, Heiko Freyland joined Gerrit Zinke at the creative helm of thjnk’s global Audi account.

With an international career that has included spells at agencies such as AlmapBBDO São Paulo, Springer & Jacoby London and Ogilvy & Mather Barcelona, he has spent the past five years as a Creative Director at thjnk/kempertrautmann. During this period, he has played a major role in shaping the agency’s creative and digital signature, in particular with his work on the Audi account.

A member of Art Directors Club Germany, Heiko Freyland is committed to fostering new talent. He teaches at the Miami Ad School, at Texterschmiede Hamburg (Hamburg Copywriters’ Workshop) and at the ADC Junior Seminar. He has received more than 300 national and international awards for his work, including eight Cannes Lions, three One Show Pencils and a Grand Prix at the New York Festivals.

Armin Jochum: “Heiko is a first-class creative and an outstanding colleague, so I’m proud that he’s taking on this key position. Heiko and Gerrit have already achieved great things and they’re now moving up a gear as a team.” Tobias Ahrens is leaving the agency of his own volition in order to focus on new challenges. As a Creative Director, he has been behind many Audi projects over the last two years.”

Armin Jochum: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Tobi for his tremendous dedication and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Creative responsibility for Audi Germany continues to lie with Stefan Schulte and Hendrik Heine, who together run the Berlin office of the thjnk group of agencies.
