Visitors to a shopping centre in Zurich were given a chance to massage dairy cows on an organic farm 50 kilometres away in Lucerne with a cow brush. All in real time. The brush in the farmyard switched on the moment someone hit the button in the shopping mall. In return, every visitor who activated the brush was treated to a pack of organic milk.
“Make the cow happy. And the cow will make you happy.”
This real-time event was captured in a short documentary and brought to wider attention with campaigning activities. Developed specifically for the project, programmes based on a WebSocket connected the sites so that both the video signal and cow brush activation were relayed in milliseconds. A total of six cameras filmed the action.
